Stephanie –

“It’s important to get back up and keep on pressing forward. While it may seem hard, knowing you have God and amazing support system will get you through.”

I was first diagnosed with breast cancer in May of 2016 and have since completed all my treatments and physical therapy. But loosing my job abruptly the following January, really hurt my family. I learned about The Breast Cancer Charities of America from one of my support groups and I’m so thankful I did. They were able to assist us with a portion of our rent and utility bills that were about to be disconnected. They allowed me to focus on eating healthier and spending more time with my loved ones and just soaking up every minute.

Having an amazing support system of other ladies that are going through breast cancer, that is what helped me tremendously on my journey. It allowed me to lean on someone that understood exactly what I was going through and to see that they overcame this too, kept me going. But it’s so important to just stay strong no matter how many times it may seem as if you are being knocked down. It’s important to get back up and keep on pressing forward. While it may seem hard, knowing you have God and an amazing support system will get you through. But the most important thing during my journey has been my fiancé and 9-year-old daughter, they have been there for me every step of the way and allowed me to lean on them when I just needed to break down and cry.

To anyone else going through this journey, just remember that no matter the hurdles you may go through, cherish each and every day with a smile.
