“Going through breast cancer is hard, so if I could encourage other patients I would remind them that they are a fighter.”
I was diagnosed with Metastatic Inflammatory Breast Cancer in July of 2019, and shortly after found out I was also HER2 positive. Hearing the words over the phone that I have breast cancer was a feeling I will never forget. I was in complete shock and lost as I thought about my next steps.
I don’t want to say it’s easy, because it definitely is not. I had to stop working, which was hard for me to just sit at home and know that this was going to put my family in some hard places. But I received so much support from my beautiful 3 children and husband no matter what we went through. I was so lucky for them to keep my spirits up when they saw I was having a bad day.
Going through breast cancer is hard, so if I could encourage other patients I would remind them that they are a fighter. Remember to stay positive, eat healthy, and believe in yourself because you WILL beat cancer!
