Sometimes getting motivated to workout is harder than the actual working out part. I won’t lie, I’ve fallen off the workout train a few times and have had to force myself to get back on it because in the end, I know it’s what’s best for myself. Why was I not blessed with a perfect body and metabolism, I will never know *sobs*.
Really though, it’s 6pm, you’re finally home from work, things need to be done around the house and getting your heart pumping and body sweating is literally the last thing you want to do. How nice does a hot shower, dinner and to plop down on the couch and catch up on the new season of Bachelor in Paradise sound? Ok, ok let me stop because it’s not even time for me to work out and I’m already talking myself out of it. Regardless, even when I’m feeling unmotivated, I never regret a good workout. There is no better feeling than the feeling of accomplishment after killing a workout, and getting out all that stress, frustration and worrying from the day out of your system.
Some of the few benefits of maintaining a regular workout routine are higher levels of endorphins, aka your happiness levels, being able to sleep better at night, it gives you a natural energy boost to get rid of that groggy 3pm mid-day tiredness, naturally reduces your chances of heart disease, and it’s a great way to keep yourself in shape and it’s a plus that it’s confident booster!
