“It’s a tough road, but to others who might be going through this journey, know that you are not alone.”
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in September of 2017. My first thought was, how was I going to tell my family what was going on and prepare them for what might be coming. Constantly thinking, how will I tell them, how will they react, will they be ok? That was the absolute hardest thing I had to do. I truly couldn’t find the words during that moment.
My family though has been my biggest supporter through all of this. My daughter, who is my best friend, my loving and supportive husband, and my incredibly strong mother. They all have made this journey much easier.
It’s a tough road, but to others who might be going through this journey, know that you are not alone. When you have cancer, so does your support system. Cancer changes you to the core forever. This life-altering change can be profound and beautiful, it’s a journey with so many things to discover that you might never have noticed about yourself before. You truly will see life in a whole different light.
It made me change my lifestyle for the better, I’ve improved my eating habits, and I can truly say I have freed myself from holding back my feelings, both negative and positive. I now live for the moment and never look back. Just remember You are NOT alone!
