Healing oils

Being diagnosed with breast cancer comes along with a lot of unwanted symptoms. Some of which are headaches, stress, sleep problems, pain, and inflammation.

Essential oils have been the new and upcoming trend for a natural healing solution. Essential oils are natural aromatic compounds that are found in seeds, bark, stems, roots, and flowers. These oils can be applied to the body in three separate ways, first by putting them on the skin directly, second by inhaling the oils, and third by ingesting them.

There have been over 3,000 different essential oils found in plants to help or sooth your mental and physical health. Here are some that are used to help the symptoms that come along with breast cancer and breast cancer treatments:

For pain- Spike lavender, petitgrain, Roman and German chamomile, clary sage, lemongrass, helichrysum, peppermint, ginger, and black pepper.

For stress- Rose otto, frankincense, clary sage, sweet orange, bergamot, grapefruit, sandalwood, neroli, rose geranium, tangerine, and jasmine.

For sleep- Lavender, neroli, jasmine, marjoram, and Roman chamomile.

For Headaches- Lavender, Peppermint, and Roman Chamomile.

For inflammation– Myrrh and frankincense.

I have been using essential oils for about a year now and have fallen completely in love with them! When I first learned about the oils and their abilities to help your health, I was a little wary. I didn’t think a natural plant based product could really achieve its job of fixing, soothing, or helping health problems. lavender healing oilBut, my experience has proven my worries wrong. My absolute favorite essential oil is Lavender. Adding a few drops of lavender to my bubble baths to be soaked into my skin at night helps me fall asleep faster and stay asleep. I wake up in the morning feeling so refreshed and ready for my day. Another one of my favorites is peppermint. I like to keep a steady workout routine and some days those workouts leave me sore the next day. So, I use peppermint oils in my oil diffuser I got from Target for $20.00 to inhale the peppermint oil, and it helps tremendously with reducing my aching body pains!

    I absolutely love my oils as well! I’m still trying to primarily use them in my day-to-day routines, but when I turn to them I’m never disappointed. 🙂

    I have just discovered BCCA here online and I am so glad that I did. I see some very interesting articles on essential oils to help relieve some symptoms that I now have to deal with. Also some health related ones that I want to read. I also sent a request for a beauty bag which will be so nice and exciting to receive in the mail besides instead of another medical bill. I am still in the place of learning what works for me since I cannot use any kind of HRT and now have entered menopause. It has been a year of much change in my life and emotions to go along with those changes. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
