Getting Right From the Inside Out

January 1st, 2018 is a Monday. It’s the start of a fresh week, fresh month and a fresh year. Maybe you want to get back on your gym regime, give your house the good deep cleaning it’s been needing, take up a new hobby or something as simple as starting that new book series you’ve been eyeing. Whatever it may be, if you’re thinking about starting over or starting your new year’s resolution, I don’t think you can possibly find a better time to do so. For me, I really want to make it a point to focus on my mental health and just all around self-care, and really get right from the inside out.

My momma always told me “you can’t love or be happy with anyone else or until you can truly love and be happy with yourself”. I’ve been through my fair share of one bad thing after another over the past year and a half and although I try to keep the happy, go lucky attitude I feel like my inner self is off. I think for a lot of people, it can be hard to admit when they have some inner challenges they face. It’s hard to talk about it with others, and sometimes you don’t know where to start or how to get out of the funk you’ve fallen into. After a long hot shower with a lot of thinking and a stern talk with myself in the mirror, I’m finally able to openly admit I’m in need of some deep self-care and self-lovin’. It’s time to do a deep cleaning of my mind body and soul and get right from the inside out.

I came across this self-care 30-day challenge on Pinterest and decided it was something that I wanted to do. I’m excited about the outcome and to see if any changes really stick throughout the next month. After telling the girls here at BCCA about it, our lovely Marketing Manager, Hannah, suggested I turn it into a blog series to kick off the new year. So, if you are interested in seeing how the next month goes, stay tuned for my updates on how I feel and if it’s helped me get right!

ALSO! If you’re interested in following along with me, check out the challenge I’ll be doing, and let me know if you’ve tried it and what your thoughts are!
