Elizabeth’s Story

My name is Elizabeth. I was diagnosed with breast cancer on October 3, 2017.

I had my first mammogram a week before that. I  decided to have a mastectomy with nipple sparing on only the side with cancer. My last surgery is coming up next week.

I have really tried to adopt a healthier lifestyle. I have really tried to eat healthier and exercise a few days during the week. I find support in my husband and my kids. My husband has been so good about everything. He is really there for me and takes excellent care of me.

I heard about The Breast Cancer Charities of America through the Radin Breast Care Center. If I were to give advice to others it would be to have faith and let your family take care of you. Having cancer has taught me to look at the world differently. Don’t take anything for granted and live every day as if it were your last. Make sure you do research on your cancer and the decisions you are making.

Just know this is just a speed bump in your life.
