I have been married to the love of my life for 35 years. I have three beautiful daughters and four amazing grandchildren and another granddaughter due in November.
Well my story goes that we had just sold our business and took our first vacation as retirees when I found a lump in my left breast, at first I was not to concerned as I had found a lump there two years earlier that after biopsy turned out to be a cyst so when my husband said he was concerned and he wanted me to have a mammogram I was not worried , after all I had no history of breast cancer in my family, well funny how cancer has no common statistics and on April the 1st 2016, April fool’s day I received the news that I had Stage 2 triple negative ductal carcinoma breast cancer. I had watched my dad battle Lung cancer and his strength inspired me that I needed to give this battle all I had, so I could change the look on my husband, my children and my grandchildren’s face from scared to death to hope and joy, and so the fight was on and boy was it real and very humbling. The importance of love and life hits you square in the face and it takes a strong toll on your body and spirit but by the grace of God and my family I was loved and Prayed through each treatment and surgery. So here we are today 1 year cancer safe.
God Bless to all going through this horrible illness.
