Breast Cancer & Wedding Bells

The day is finally here… and I hear Wedding Bells

Today is my wedding day, so I’m probably somewhere freaking out and having a slight panic attack instead.

I’ve tried not to be a bridezilla for the last year, and I think I’ve done a pretty good job but this last week has been pretty hard! So, I’ve been procrastinating a lot of things and turn to social media to keep my mind off the stressfulness! But in all the madness, I can’t even begin to describe all the feelings I’m feeling coming up to my wedding day. I have been stressed, I’ve been filled with love, and I’ve been angry when things don’t go my way.

One thing I’ve always kept in mind is how lucky I am to be marrying the love of my life. I couldn’t imagine not being able to have an actual wedding and being able to say, “I do” to my love without a big celebration. It is literally everything I’ve ever dreamed of since I was little, and I’m so fortunate to have my Fiancé help me financially throughout this whole thing.

I wanted to share a few tips for those who might have just got engaged around the holidays or who have been planning now for a while.

  • Don’t Rush: Enjoy your engagement! If you do not have to rush things, spend time soaking up being engaged and give yourself enough time to plan and prepare, and not to mention save!
  • Be Patient: Be patient while planning, the more you rush, the more opportunities you might miss. Looking back on some of my planning I wish I would have taken the time to be patient and really explore all of my avenues for different planning aspects.
  • Stay Organized: Make sure that you use a binder to keep track of everything, including your vendor payments, dates to remember, and important invoices/receipts. This will save you a huge headache when it comes to the end and your wedding is just around the corner. I know my binder saved me and reminded when payments were due so I wasn’t charged extra.
  • Take Pictures: Like I said before, fully enjoy your engagement. Take pictures every chance you get, because for most this is often the only time you will be getting married! Take photos at any gatherings/showers you have, or just and friends lunch. Document and reflect on all the love and support that is coming your way!
