Although I’ve never experienced hair loss or even cancer first hand. I’ve come to know that hair loss is often one of the hardest parts for women going through breast cancer.

While you can try and make things better by wearing wigs or hats. Nothing can quite replace the confidence you have in your own hair. There are so many products on the market today that claim to help your hair grow faster and stronger, but in reality, they often leave out the fact that they contain harsh chemicals, which let’s face it, just aren’t good to be putting on your precious scalp.

I’ve always struggled with thin hair, so I have gone through so many products trying to find the one that works for thickening. But I’ve recently come to terms that I just will always have thin hair and there’s nothing I can do to change it. But there are ways I can make it healthier.

So, hand-in-hand, there might night be a certain one product that allows you grow your hair back fast after chemo. But there are ways you can do it and ensure that your new locks are healthy and strong. So here are 4 tips that will help you with your hair regrowth after chemo.

Gentle Products – it’s so important to be aware of the chemicals you are putting on that precious scalp of yours to encourage hair regrowth. Using gentle products, such as baby shampoo can really help and nourish your follicles. And it doesn’t hurt to use moisturizer if you tend to have a dry scalp.

Increase your fatty acid intake – According to livestrong.com, it’s important to encourage regrowth with omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. I’ve personally started taking Evening Primrose Oil, an omega-6 fatty acid. And, I can honestly say it has helped my hair look healthier. On a side note, it also has helped with my hormonal acne.

Increase your protein intake – If I would vouch for anything, it would be to increase your protein intake. And I’m not just saying this because I love chicken, but because protein helps with all things, such as rebuilding muscle. According to HairBoutique.com, it states that hair is essentially made up of protein, so it’s crucial to consume when trying to regrow it.

Add extra vitamins – Of course with any tip or product, approach with caution, and even consult with your doctor. But adding in extra vitamins can always improve your hair from the inside out and speed up the growth process. Be sure to nourish your body and you will be sure to see results from it.
