4 Family Fun Exercises for Summer…
If you’ve read any of my previous blogs, you know I absolutely love staying active. Exercise gives me life! There are also so many great benefits to having a regular exercise routine, like reducing your risk for breast cancer, reducing stress, and increasing energy levels. Exercise does not have to be a chore, and definitely should be enjoyable. What better way to get active than with your closest tribe, your family!? I’ve rounded up 4 family fun exercises that you need for summer!
Exercising with you SO, kids, sister, mom, or even fur babies can help keep you accountable in your fitness routine and make exercise that much more fun! It also teaches our loved ones the importance of healthy living, so you and your family can create memories while being your best self. Here are 4 of my favorite family fun exercises for summer:
FAMILY FRIENDLY EXERCISES
Swimming in the pool is a fun way to get in your exercise as a family. Remember the days where you were exhausted as a kid from playing in the pool all day? It’s because your body was exercising, doing all those mermaid dives and playing Marco Polo. Do just that with your family! Pool volleyball, Marco Polo, races, there are so many ways to get moving!
The middle of the day can be brutal in the summer. So taking a family stroll around your neighborhood at sunset can be a great way to get outdoors and get active. Make it more than a walk by creating stops where you incorporate some body weight exercises (I love squats and lunges) or see if your kids can beat you to the next stop sign! This is also the perfect opportunity to catch up with your family in a distraction-free environment.
Ok, you may have to have kids for this one. But grab your babies, your little siblings, or even offer to baby sit your cousins and hit up the local trampoline park! Jumping on trampolines and running around like a kid with no worries for hours will get your heart pumping. Also you can beat the summer heat by staying indoors.
After a long day at work it’s great to get a bit silly and decompress. Hubby and I have a high energy playlist and dance around with our little girl and have a blast making her laugh and have fun. It’s a great way to unwind, get our metabolism up, and spend time together.
