One of the most beneficial things for your body is antioxidants. But it’s often the least thought about health benefit. Most people try and watch their calorie intake or their sugar intake. What about making sure you get your daily dose of antioxidants?
Antioxidants play a huge role in breast cancer prevention and overall health. They are mainly known for helping prevent diseases, as the human body naturally produces free radicals (i.e. cancer-causing agents) and antioxidants help counteract their damaging effects. Antioxidants don’t just help protect us from disease, they also provide other benefits, such as, good skin, immune system support, eye problems, and even mood disorders!
Too say they are the miracle food would be an understatement. Now where can we find these amazing little guys! They are actually in some of my favorite food and snacks! Since antioxidants are hard to measure or know exactly how much you are getting, here is a tip on the way nutritionist like to measure them! It’s called the ORAC Score, or Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity. So basically, the higher the score, the more antioxidants and better fighting agent that food is!
