3 Easy Things My Toddler Will Eat

 I have an almost 2-year-old, *sigh* please stop growing! As soon as she could eat solid foods, she was eating anything and everything. Lately though, as she is starting to figure what she likes and doesn’t like, I feel like she NEVER wants anything I give her. Unless its junk food or candy. Typical kids, right? For a while I was giving her whatever she wanted just so I knew she was eating SOMETHING. Guilty mom started to kick in and in the back of my mind I was telling myself “you’re going to let your baby live off junk food? This is what you’ve come to?” No way, it was time to put my foot down, in the most loving way. Haha! Through trial and error, food being flung across the kitchen, or thrown off her highchair we are finally getting somewhere with getting the right nutrients in her little baby bod. Side note, if you’ve got a picky eater try pairing some condiments with their food! I’ve never met a kid who loves condiments as much as my child does, not even kidding! If we’re ever at Chick-fil-A I have ketchup, Chick-fil-A sauce, and ranch all laid out and she will dip her food in each one. It’s usually the only way I get her to finish her food lol!

 Aside from our favorite place in the world (yes favorite, I could literally eat Chick-fil-A every day and never get tired), check out her three top favorite meals! Maybe your little one will take a liking to them!

Caldo de pollo, aka chicken and veggie soup-

This an all-time favorite for everyone in the house. When you’re homesick, missing your mom, or having a gloomy day, it’s a super simple dish and serves a lot. Win win! Everyone I’ve known always makes it different ways, which is totally fine as long you don’t forget your main ingredient, chicken! You can go on Pinterest and find 50+ recipes on how to make it but I follow by this one every time and it never fails to satisfy all of our soup cravings!

 

Mac and cheese…. with carrots-

I know, I know. Weird, right? I thought so too but hey, whatever floats her boat! There isn’t really a recipe to go by on this one. I usually buy whole carrots, chop them up in fourths and throw them in the oven, at 400 for about 25 minutes. They come out so soft on the inside and crisp on the outside. I could sit and eat an entire pan full. (If I’m being honest, I actually have). When it comes to mac and cheese I always go with Annie’s Organic brand. P.S they usually are ALWAYS on sale at Kroger’s for $1!

 

Sugar cookie fruit pizza-

This is a little more of a dessert, but these little things are to die for! I was introduced to these heavenly creations about 3 years ago at an office party and I kid you not, I ate about 10 and took another 10 home in a doggy bag.  These are definitely a big hit in our house when they’re made. My little Cam-cam goes crazy for them. If you’re looking to switch up dessert night I highly recommend giving these a try!
