Lately, I’ve been feeling a little Nostalgic. Maybe it’s because I just had my 24th birthday or the fact that my Fiancé, Robert, and I just bought a house and realizing that I am officially on my own. Whichever it is, it has really made me think about my years past and how much I wish I could have those back!
I remember thinking when I was little how badly I wanted to grow up, and now that I’m here I just want it to slow down! There are so many things I wish I could have spent longer reminiscing on, but as time goes on, I learn to appreciate the time I have left.
So many people today are in such a rush and it is so important for your peace of mind and not to mention health and well-being to just take a break from time to time and slow yourself down. And most importantly slow down so you really can appreciate the things around you before it’s too late.
A few things I do to make sure that I give myself a break from time to time is to make a list of things I’m thankful for. Making a list like this helps me to make sure to keep what’s important in mind, and to allow myself to remember to always appreciate them even during a crazy week.
Another task I like to do is to give myself a detox. No, not like a juice detox, but a life detox. Whether it’s from my cell phone, social media, or even to just get away on a day trip, these detoxes have become some of my favorite things to incorporate into my routine. Being able to put down my phone and enjoy time with my loved ones really helps me stay and appreciate the memories made for years to come.
There are so many ways you can take the time to appreciate life, you just have to find what matters most to you and focus on that! But most importantly make sure to slow down, and even stop to smell the roses every now and again! I promise you won’t regret it!
