I know I know, it’s fall so that means all the ‘basic white-girls’ break out their uggs and run to grab anything pumpkin spiced flavor. I’m guilty of having quite the fall obsession, and pumpkin spiced lattes are something I could drink every day if possible.
With pumpkin spice flavors consuming the next few months, it makes it extremely hard to avoid the inevitable holiday weight gain. So, I’ve sought out a healthier version of my favorite fall drink. My Pinterest feed has recently been filled with all fall décor and recipes, so it wasn’t necessarily hard to find a good one!
It’s extremely important that with the holidays coming up, we really focus on staying healthy for our overall health to prevent diseases like breast cancer. It’s easy to get consumed in all the candy, bread, and cookies that are tradition for so many. So instead of eliminating them completely, try finding healthy recipes that substitute all the bad ingredients. You can enjoy all of your holiday traditions, but with a little less guilt. (You’re welcome).
Amy’s Healthy Baking has the Ultimate Healthy Pumpkin Spice Latte, and even has a helpful video for those (me) who aren’t the greatest at cooking, even if it is just a drink! So, for all you basic white girls out there, keep on scrolling for the recipe below!
The Ultimate Healthy Pumpkin Spice Latte:
- 1 cup of nonfat milk
- 1 tbsp pumpkin purée
- 4 drops vanilla crème stevia
- 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
- tiny pinch ground nutmeg
- tiny pinch ground ginger
- ¾ cup extra strong coffee
- Add the milk and pumpkin into a small pot. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring constantly with a whisk, until the mixture begins to simmer. Add in the stevia, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Whisk the mixture until it becomes frothy.
- Add the coffee to a large mug, and pour the milk mixture on top. And enjoy!
