iGoPink’s 2018 New Year’s Resolutions!
Being a team means growing with the organizations and within our own individual self as well. The iGoPink team joined up to compile a list of all of our New Year’s Resolution to help inspire you to set your resolutions as well. Whether it be a physical goal, mental goal, or just overall goal. It’s never too late to set a New Year’s Resolution for the start of 2018. The iGoPink team has been blessed throughout the 2017 year and cannot wait to tackle 2018 head-on and make it even better! So be sure to follow along with us in the New Year for tons of new and exciting things to come!
Alix: I cannot tell you a New Year’s resolution that I’ve actually stuck to at all, ever. I guess I am just set in my ways so to speak. 2017 has been a hard year for so many people, especially here in Houston. So, my 2018 resolution is not going to be focused on me, because that doesn’t seem to work. In 2018 I want to love more, showing those who have shown us support through our lives that they are truly important and meaningful people in my life. I want to work harder, I am always trying to find new ways that BCCA can touch more lives and I hope in 2018 I can help our organization reach more lives affected by breast cancer. Finally, I want to serve more, whether that is spending time volunteering with other organizations, becoming more involved in our church, or even being that extra support to a family member or friend who may need it.
Allie: Much like Alix, I’m just as guilty of not sticking to my new year’s resolutions. Maybe it’s because I set these insanely high resolutions for myself and it’s almost like setting myself up for failure. This year, I’m not focused on a deadline resolution. I just want to do better and be better in my daily life. I want to be the absolute best mother, wife, and woman of God that I can be. I want to make sure that I am doing my absolute best that I can in my position here at BCCA, I want to truly enjoy my life and not sweat the little things. 2018 definitely feels like the year that big things are going to happen and I am eager and as ready as I can be!
Hannah: 2018 for me is going to be a very different year. Normally, I choose a simple New Year’s Resolution for myself that I often too quickly forget about or brush aside. But right after the first of the year, I will be getting married and finally become a family! I am so excited, as I feel like I’ve been waiting for this forever! So, my goal for this year is to really focus on my health overall, with my fiancé and myself getting married, we’ve talked a lot about starting a family within the next couple of years, so I want to be sure that before we do my body is in its absolute healthiest state! I am definitely a junk food lover, so this journey will be an interesting one at times! But I hope that I can bring my experiences to our iGoPink blog and really help someone who is going through the same challenge or looking to start!
Erica: New Year’s resolutions…I’ve never been a huge person on making New Year’s resolutions. Every year I always want to eat healthier; work out more; make more time for myself; be a kinder, more grateful & giving person than I was the year before. That isn’t changing for 2018…I always want to grow and be a better version of myself. However, after a full year of adding ‘mom’ to my job title, I want to have a yearly resolution for my daughter and our family. 2017 was a crazy year for our household—blessings, but a crazy year. So in 2018, it’s my goal and commitment to her (and my husband) to be more present. Many times it’ll be bedtime and I’m trying to catch-up on emails, or I will put on TV versus spending time with her at night so I can finish up a Board report. 2018, that’s going to change. Some people may get their emails returned the next morning instead of immediately, and I may need to learn to say ‘no’ to some items in order to be there for her. But, she’s our greatest blessing and has taught us the true meaning of selflessness; in 2018 she’s going to get my selfless/non-working attention and time together with her!
Steph: Another year, another year! 2017 was an interesting year, to say the least; hurricanes, fires, earthquakes, flooding. I got an upfront look at the complete disaster in our city and watched countless people lose everything. A real wake up call. My love for Jesus is always on the front burner, but I feel like its been on the small one. This year Jesus is going to be on the large front burner. I want to give more and not receive. I want to serve the people who need it the most. I want to spread the joy! I want to bring more people the knowledge of Christ! In addition to that, I want to be a healthier me. A better mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. I know that this is going to be an amazing year to come and I am super excited about what it will hold for us all.
