Face Mask Essentials

Face Masks You Need to Try

I’m constantly on the hunt, and on Amazon, searching out the best beauty products. Recently I’m having a love affair with face masks! It just feels so good to come home from a long day, take off all my makeup, and throw one of these bad boys on for a half hour or so (I leave them on way longer than it says). So let’s get right into it!

Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay – Best Overall

This stuff is insane. I’ve read a few blogs of girls obsessed with the clay (literally it’s like you dipped your face in clay haha), but it wasn’t until my assistant raved about the Aztec mask that I finally tried it. It really does pull everything to the surface and deep cleans your pores. However, it is very drying, so moisturize like crazy afterwards. I mix it with equal parts apple cider vinegar and apply it with a cheap little face sponge I can toss. I personally don’t like to apply masks with my hands because 1) I don’t like how it feels on my hands, weird, and 2) hands are dirty! Leave the mask on until you literally cannot move your face, rinse with warm water, and don’t be surprised if your skin is red! It’s normal. The first time my roommate and I did this she looked like she had been in the sun for 8 hours, but it goes away after about 3o minutes.

Mask of Magnaminty – Best For All Skin Types

This is the first face mask I ever tried, and I’ve been hooked since. I’ve always been a huge fan of Lush, and apparently this is their best selling mask! It has a cooling sensation because of the peppermint, which also happens to smell amazing. It’s definitely your typical “green chunky face mask” that you see in movies. I love that I can leave it on for awhile without my face feeling like it’s about to crack. This is one that I use probably twice a week or more while I take a bath, watch an episode of Nashville or do the dishes. Try it! For even more of a cool, tingly feeling, leave it in the fridge for awhile before using.

Don’t Look At Me – Best Exfoliator

Once I find something I like, it’s hard for me to shake it up, but luckily I took a chance on this. One Saturday, I ran into Lush for a bath bomb in leggings, an oversized tee, absolutely no makeup and a baseball hat. Obviously living my best life! The very sweet employee there noticed my makeup free (and broken out) face, and suggested I try this mask/scrub. I told her I was hooked on Mask of Magnaminty, but let her test this on my hand. It literally made my hand look like a baby’s skin. It was softer, brighter, better in every way. I still stick to my main ride or dies above, but this is fantastic for exfoliation.

Raw Shea Butter Hydrating Mud Mask – Best For Dry Skin

I usually have pretty combination/oily skin, but whenever I visit my boyfriend in San Francisco, I come home with wind chapped, dry skin. Living in Houston, humidity is usually my issue, so dry skin is not something I deal with. However, my roomie does have dry skin and swears by this mask. When my skin is dry, it’s a life saver. Unlike drying masks (like Aztec) it actually leaves my skin moisturized.

Okay so what do you think? Have you tried any of these guys? Any I left off? Let me know!
